Il Leone Mastrantonio

Self-taught chef Daniel Toledo’s passion for cooking began in his home. His family shares his love for cooking and his Argentinean roots are noted in the simplicity of the dishes he enjoys cooking. In 2004-2005, Daniel spent time in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with his family. Here, he worked in renowned restaurants furthering his culinary skills.

Thereafter, Daniel continued his travels in Europe always working in restaurants, both front of house and in the kitchen. He developed a taste for Italian cuisine in his travels throughout Europe. This taste culminated in him joining the Mastrantonio Group in 2006. Currently, Daniel is the Chef Patron of Il Leone Mastrantonio in Cape Town. He is committed to sourcing the freshest and best produce, using only authentic Italian products.
